Victory at Zermatt Marathon

On July 2nd I ran the Zermatt Marathon from St. Niklaus 1116m to the top of Riffelberg, 2,585 metres above sea level. It is one of the biggest Mountain Marathon races in the world with spectacular views over the Matterhorn and. Zermatt Valley.

The race was fast from the beginning and I was in a good leading pack of 3 runner. Just before Zermatt at 20km, I got a gap that I could maintain to the top of the climb and to the finish line. It was a really nice feeling and happy to win this race. Thanks a lot to the organisers and Martin for all support during the week.
